The Mad Chase For Russia-gate Prey

Authored by Daniel Lazare via The Strategic Culture Foundation, June turned out to be the cruelest month for the Russia-gate industry. The pain began on June 8 when ex-FBI Director James Comey testified that a sensational New York Times article declaring that “members of Donald J. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials” was “in the main … not true.” Russian President Vladimir Putin addresses UN...

Comey Friend Unveils “Smoking Gun” Story

For about a week now, Benjamin Wittes, the Brookings Institution senior fellow and noted ally of former FBI Director James Comey, has been taunting the Trump administration with tweets suggesting that another 'bombshell' story, presumably related to the Russia investigation, was in the works and set to drop any minute (we covered it all here: "Tick, Tick, Tick" Comey Ally Scrambles To Explain Why "Next Trump Bombshell" Didn't Arrive Today).  Of course, people took notice of the warnings...

First Witness Says She Felt “Betrayed” By “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli

Prosecution called its first witness in the trial of former Turing Pharmaceutical CEO Martin Shkreli on Thursday. The witness, a former investor in one of Shkreli’s funds, alleged that Shkreli misled her about the fund’s performance, touting returns that were “too good to be true.” The witness, Sarah Hassan, told jurors that she invested $300,000 with Shkreli in 2011 after being told he was “a rising star in the hedge fund world” who managed $40 million. She said she was thrilled when Shkreli...

FBI Director McCabe Subject Of Three Separate Federal Inquiries Into Alleged Misconduct: Report

A couple of days ago we noted that, according to a report from Circa, Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe may have made a serious error by refusing to recuse himself from the Michael Flynn investigation.  As it turns out, per court documents reviewed by Circa, McCabe may have harbored a personal vendetta against Flynn after he intervening on behalf of an FBI Special Agent, Robyn Gritz, who had accused McCabe and other top FBI officials of sexual discrimination.  Apparently the lack of...

Two Top House Dems Accused Of Ethics Violations

Democrats have been having a rough time lately as the phony Russia collusion narrative crumbles (with a little help from noted fake news purveyor CNN) while some of the party’s most venerated officials are facing allegations of misconduct – be it for colluding with the Clinton campaign (Loretta Lynch) or for allegedly submitting a fraudulent loan application and improperly pressuring a regional lender (Bernie and Jane Sanders). Add to that list Reps. John Conyers (D-Mich.), the ranking member...

“Young Virginia Democrat” Sentenced To Prison For Registering Dead People To Vote

Last October, we wrote about "Young Virginia Democrat" Andrew Spieles, a student at James Madison University, and apparently "Lead Organizer" for HarrisonburgVOTES, who got caught registering dead people to vote.  At the time, the founder of the organization, Joseph Fitzgerald, told reporters that he had no knowledge of Spieles’ actions and no idea "what his motivations were".    “He’s smart, and he understands the [political] process,” Fitzgerald told the Daily News-Record of Spieles. “Who...

McCabe’s Revenge: Circa Suggests Flynn Investigation Was Launched As Pure Retaliation

Andrew McCabe has long been a controversial figure at the FBI.  His position as Deputy Director of the FBI came under intense scrutiny during the Clinton email investigation after it came to light that his wife, Jill McCabe, took nearly $500,000 from Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe to fund her Senate campaign.  Of course, Terry McAuliffe is a long-time confidant of the Clinton family and was rumored as a potential running mate for Hillary.  But sure, no reason to be wary the McCabe was put...

Edward Snowden Asks Ron Paul If Intelligence Reports Ever Swayed His Vote

During an appearance on the Liberty Report last week, Dr. Ron Paul interviewed former NSA contractor Edward Snowden about the rise of the Deep State and how intelligence agencies are threatening Americans’ freedom. But in the closing moments of that interview, Snowden surprised Paul with an unexpected request: “I was thinking I could ask you a question Dr. Paul, again about the intelligence stuff…I think it’d be interesting to people and I don’t think we’ve ever heard it from your...

According to BuzzFeed, which cites three anonymous sources, Russia is reportedly recalling Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, the man who dared to do his job and talk to US politicians and visible public figures, and who according to The Hill had "emerged as a focal point in the FBI probe into Russia’s election meddling."  While the Kremlin has not confirmed the report, BuzzFeed adds that Kislyak is scheduled to leave Washington next month, following a July 11 going-away party at the St. Regis Hotel,...

New Poll Shows Majority Of Americans Think Russia Probes Are “A Distraction”

Last month, we reported on a poll showing most Americans don’t want to see President Donald Trump impeached. Today, a new poll released exclusively to the Hill shows that most Americans feel the investigations into alleged collusion between Russian officials and the Trump campaign are a distraction. The poll found that 64% of Americans believe the investigations are hurting the country, and a whopping 73% believe that the focus on Russia is distracting Congress from important issues like...
